Musical acts Yukon Blonde and Alvvays to headline 7th annual Vankleek Hill Oktoberfest, a two-day celebration hosted by Beau’s Brewery

VANKLEEK HILL – (July 23, 2015) Tickets will go on sale Thursday August 6 for the 7th annual Vankleek Hill Oktoberfest, presented by local craft brewery Beau’s. The two-day festival and signature fundraising event will take place Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3, 2015. Held annually at the fairgrounds in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, Beau’s Oktoberfest is an authentic Bavarian cultural celebration, featuring German-style craft beer, food menus from more than 25 local restaurants, as well as award-winning music and dance.

The always highly anticipated evening music line-up is again focused on the talent of independent Canadian musical acts. Friday night will feature Juno-nominated rockers Yukon Blonde as headliners in a roster that also includes The Dears, The Pack A.D. and The Elwins. Indie pop act Alvvays, recently shortlisted for the Polaris Music prize, will perform in the headliner slot Saturday evening, following performances from musical guests F—ked Up and The Beaches. Canada’s polka king Walter Ostanek and his accordion are back again this year for daytime entertainment on both days of the festival. And new for 2015, Canadian comedian and actor Tom Green will be performing for the Oktoberfest crowd.

Beau’s held its first Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill in 2009 with just a couple of tables, music and a small bar, but the celebration has grown in size every year. The festival was selected as a 2011 finalist for Best Ontario Culinary Tourism Experience. Last year’s Oktoberfest saw a record-setting 19,288 attendees swell the population of tiny village Vankleek Hill, which is located halfway between Montréal and Ottawa, and north of Cornwall. Return bus packages to and from the fest will again be available from these cities.

Many more details including new beers, Bavarian food creations, signature charity partners, and international speakers will be announced when tickets go on sale beginning 10 am, Thursday August 6. Oktoberfest 2015 tickets will be available for purchase online (www.beausoktoberfest.ca) and at the brewery. As Saturday tickets are always in high demand, would-be attendees are advised to buy early to avoid disappointment.
