Winemaker Craig McDonald is quite proud of his 2013 Wild Ferment Chardonnay, and rightly so.

Whilst we are perennial fans of many of Craig McDonald’s wines, we feel that it’s with this gorgeously textured  and complex 2013 Trius Showcase Wild Ferment Chardonnay that he really knocks it out of the park. A few weeks ago GFR took a trip down to Niagara-On-The-Lake to find out why Craig feels this wine is so special.

While he stresses that it’s all about the Lincoln Lakeshore Oliveira vineyard, we feel that he’s just being his usual charmingly modest self…

Track down this excellent bottling at the winery. While it’s not exactly inexpensive ($36.20), it’s worth every penny.
