On Monday, July 11th Ascari Enoteca has an amazing combination of UP CLOSE & PERSONAL and WINEKILLAS!

From 6:00pm onwards, Brent Rowland and Svetlana Atcheva of Ontario’s own Pearl Morissette Estate, will be our next ‘Up Close & Personal’ guests. Pearl Morissette is a unique partnership born in 2007, between Toronto-based developer Mel Pearl, and Burgundy-trained vigneron François Morissette. Associate winemaker Brent Rowland was recently promoted to winemaker at Pearl Morissette. In one short year, Brent has become an indispensable part of the team, a serious rival in wine metaphors and blind tastings to Svetlana, and the bestpartner-in-crime-and-in-wine to Francois. They all share the same uncompromising vision that values the traditional non-intervention approach to wine growing in order to deliver premium quality wines. Brent and Svetlana will be pouring a fantastic selection of flights from their line and we’ve been told there might be a few treats that aren’t available to the public.

Brent and Svetlana’s much anticipated visit will also coincide with WINEKILLAS. This is what’s in store for our customers:

 * half price bottles of wine, all bottles on the menu

 * DJ Jodie Lee’s elegant nimble fingers spinning it old school styles, serving up funk, soul, rnb and disco from 9PM until the wee hours

 * late night menu from 10PM – Midnight

Reservations can be made via Opentable or by calling us at  416.792.4157.

 ABOUT UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

At Ascari Enoteca we have been fortunate to meet many of the unique personalities behind the wines we pour. We would like you to meet them too. We consider our ‘Up Close & Personal’ wine series as the anti-wine dinner; a continuing series of commitment-free evenings, conceived of as an alternative to expensive, multi-course winemaker dinners.

We will be welcoming winemakers from around the world and closer to home. In addition to our regular menu and wine list, we will be offering a selection of their wines by the glass or by the bottle. Our guests will be spending evenings with us pouring their wines at your table, chatting about anything you may find interesting, sharing their passion and having a glass and a plate of food themselves. If you enjoy hearing the winemakers tell you their stories and the stories of their wines, these are rare opportunities to personally meet the people behind the bottles and the labels. Ask them anything,or just relax and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
