The Upper Canada Cheese Company‘s Guernsey Girl cheese has been a great favourite of ours here at Good Food Revolution ever since we were first introduced to its charms at the tail end of last year. Actually, our in-house cheese expert Andy Shay wrote a small but delicious piece about it back in January.

With this in mind, we were delighted to discover that the Upper Canada Cheese Company were launching Guernsey Girl through an online recipe competition with many of Toronto’s top Chefs submitting recipes that avid cheese lovers could then vote for through the website.

After the votes had been electronically gathered and consolidated the top three Chefs had the challenge of serving up their dishes to a hungry and critical audience at Toronto’s Cheese Boutique on March the 8th.

The results were as follows:

1st Favourite: Chef Jason Bangerter of Auberge de Pommier with his Artichoke and Guernsey Girl Terrine.

2nd Favourite: Chef Lora Kirk of Ruby WatchCo with her Slow-Braised Short Ribs and Guernsey Girl Cheese Poutine.

3rd Favourite: Chef Andrea Damon Gibson of Fred’s Breads and her dish, Guernsey Girl Goes Mediterranean.

Congratulations to all three Chefs!

All recipes can be found on the Upper Canada Cheese Company‘s website.
