CAPS Contender Elyse Lambert giving Winemaker Jean-Francois Bourdy a hard time in Jura

Inniskillin Wines is very proud to partner with CAPS (Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers) as the title sponsor of Canada’s Best Sommelier Competition 2012.

This prestigious event is taking place at the Delta Halifax, Nova Scotia September 17th & 18th and Good Food Revolution’s intrepid Jamie Drummond will be there to capture every heart-stopping slurp, spit, and swallow.

Inniskillin has had a long history with CAPS and this sponsorship demonstrates our continued commitment and support of this dedicated, professional association. The winner of the competition will be presented with the “Inniskillin Award for Best Sommelier of Canada” and appropriately will be toasted with Inniskillin Icewine.

All previous CAPS provincial sommelier competition winners are eligible to compete at this top level. The winner of the competition will be given the title of the Best Sommelier of Canada 2012 and will represent the country in the Best Sommelier Competition of the Americas in Brazil later this year, as well as the World’s Best Sommelier Competition in 2013 in Japan.

The format will be similar to the competitions of the Americas, as well as the World, and competitors will be asked to compete in a language other than their own.

The competitors from each chapter are as follows:

Atlantic: Robert Noel
Ontario: Will Predhomme, Bruce Wallner
Quebec: Élyse Lambert, Véronique Rivest, Bertrand Eichel

CAPS will be making a live webcast of the competition available to the public. To access the feed, click on this link on the day of the event:
