The man behind the wines of Tuscany’s Ornellaia shares a joke with Good Food Revolution in Toronto at the tail end of November.

 

Whilst the Ornellaia name is synonymous with polished, top-quality Tuscan red wine, it’s markedly less often that one hears of the importance of the terroirs of the Ornellaia Bolgheri estate.

With a view to changing people’s understanding of the winemaking process at his estate, Oenologist and Estate Director Axel Heinz travelled to Toronto for a fascinating seminar breaking down of the component parts that go into both Ornellaia and its sister wine, Le Volte, stressing the importance of the differing terroirs in the final assemblage.
