Jamie with über-talented Sommeliers Mercedes and Elise overlooking the Danube, Austria

Earlier this year I had the great pleasure of attending the 2011 Austrian Wine Summit in Vienna, and the many regions of Lower Austria.

At the summit I was lucky enough to be tasting with Sommeliers of such a high calibre that I was often quite often overwhelmed… thankfully they were actually a jolly nice bunch, and we got on like a house on fire.

These Sommeliers hailed from all over the globe, and all came to the summit from different angles, and with differing experiences of wine.

I chose to grab a select four of them for a swift Good Food Revolution interrogation.

So what is the correct collective noun for a group of Sommeliers?

Answers in the comments please…

I suggested  a ‘wank” of Sommeliers…

Edinburgh-born/Toronto-based Sommelier, consultant, writer, judge, and educator Jamie Drummond is the Director of Programs/Editor of Good Food Revolution… and he thinks that despite his slightly disturbing predilection for River Monsters Mr. Zimmerman will go on to do great things…
