Can somebody say Girl Power?! For the third year in a row on International Women’s Day, Toronto’s top women Chefs will gather together for a common purpose at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen.
Sistering, a drop-in centre for women in need, houses a kitchen which serves over 250 nutritious and health promoting meals daily (upwards to 92,000 meals a year). With increasingly less available affordable housing, the demand is ever growing for these services. Sistering must raise $250,000 in order to update and renovate the kitchen facilities and without this essential upgrade, Sistering will not be able to continue to provide much these needed meals.
After two successful years of fundraising, this year’s Kitchen Sisters event is aptly named “Last Supper for Kitchen Sisters”, as the final fundraising goal is well within reach. Hosted by Chef Lynn Crawford, the evening will feature a cocktail reception and four course feast complete with wine pairings, door prizes and more. Each course will be prepared by a different chef and diners will enjoy the feast together at a large family style table- in true dinner party style.
Chefs involved include Donna Dooher, Anne Yarymowich, Christine Bib, Andrea Damon-Gibson, Suzanne Baby and, of course, the Master of Ceremonies Lynn Crawford. All proceeds will go to Sistering and the kitchen renovation initiative.
What is sure to be a night of great food and drink will be for an even greater cause. Tickets are limited- for more details, please click here.
