La Croix de Queynac is located northwest of Lalande de Pomerol in the commune of Galgon on the Right Bank, where the soils are composed of sediment and clay. Thus it is has the ideal terroir for the estate vineyards planted to primarily Merlot, with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The style is approachable, ripe and flavorful, tailored to suit the modern palate.

In 1999, Stéphane and Paola Gabard resumed the family vineyard which has been passed down since the 18th Century. The soils of the great Bordeaux Vineyards and the family knowledge allow them to vinify the wine combining tradition and the best oenologic progress. The name of our Château La Croix De Queynac refers to a site classified as a French Monument where some of our vines grow up all around. La Croix De Queynac used to be a church built by The Templiers going on the way to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. Today you can only see some traces of this church.

Enjoy a piece of this history and terroir for only $14.95 at your local LCBO VINTAGES store this weekend.
