Chef Nicholas Patterson will be at Toronto’s Shangri La Hotel until Sunday the 19th of January, but his superb “London Calling” Afternoon Tea menu will continue after that date.

This week we meet up with acclaimed Executive Pastry Chef Nicholas Patterson from the soon-to-be-opening Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard in London, UK.

We spoke about his visit to Toronto, his start in the world of pastry, the current British obsession with baking, and the future of the role of Pastry Chef in the restaurants of tomorrow.

Chef Patterson is in town to help promote Shangri-La Toronto’s “London Calling” Afternoon Tea service, with a specially designed menu that he put together alongside the hotel’s resident Executive Chef, Damon Campbell.

Served in the hotel’s Lobby Lounge, Chef Patterson will be in-house until Sunday the 19th of this months, but his Afternoon Tea will be served well after his departure.

If you feel like making a trip to sample his delectable sandwiches, scones, and pastries, and perhaps meet the man himself, then I’d highly recommend that you like the Shangri-La Toronto’s Facebook page and make your reservation through this competition page, where you will be entered into a draw to win a trip for two to London, staying at the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard. Not too shabby at all.
