In tomorrow’s (December 7) LCBO VINTAGES release, we’re really excited to share a delicious sparkler with you, and it’s certified organic, so it’s good for you too! The Perlage Canah Brut Prosecco Superiore di Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG 2012 is full of rich and dense fruit, giving the impression of sweetness, yet remains elegant and dry.

Perlage is respected in the Valdobbiadene area as a leader and innovator. They were the first producer of certified organic Prosecco, the first producer of certified biodynamic Prosecco, and in fact, Peralge was one of the first certified organic wineries in Italy in 1985.

To learn more about the Perlage Prosecco winery and their philosophy, check out this video interview where GFR’s own Jamie Drummond  interviewed Perlage’s marketing manager Erika Gallon during her recent visit to Toronto.

At $19.95, this is a great opportunity to taste premium quality Prosecco, at an affordable price. I can’t think of a better way to toast the holidays. Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Bernard Stramwasser

TASTING NOTES AND BUYER INFORMATION

Perlage Canah Brut Prosecco Superiore di Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG

Tasting Note: In colour; pale straw yellow with green reflection. On the nose; fruity with flavour of green apple and field flowers. On the palate; harmonic taste of green apple and persistent body.

Review: “A very fragrant, soft, lightly effervescent prosecco, labeled as brut yet still offering a gentle impression of sweetness. Typical pear and apple flavours linger on the fine finish, and this has better intensity and length than the majority of Proseccos. Enjoy now. Tasted November 2013. Value Rating **.”

Score: 88
