Our New Years resolution is to enjoy and share more outstanding wines in 2017. This has prompted us to start shipping some very rare, ready-to-drink, back vintage wines this January.

In prosperous years, historic Burgundy domaines hold back some wines for a rainy day, as they are not obligated to pay taxes on the wines until they are sold. These cellars act as a tax free savings account for the domaines. With a continuing string of low yielding vintages in Burgundy, some of the greatest domaines are releasing small lots of their back vintage cellars behind closed doors. This is one of the reasons that Nicolas Potel of Roche de Bellene & Domaine de Bellene is able to source so much great wine from his friends and contacts in the Cote D’or.
