The marvellous Jamie Goode AKA Mr. Wine Anorak

The marvellous Jamie Goode AKA Mr. Wine Anorak

Around three and a half years ago I had the extreme pleasure of bumping into one of my heroes, the one and only Jamie Goode. Having always been a Scientist at heart, Goode’s writings upon the essential science of wine through his website Wine Anorak has always been of great appeal to me, and so having been given the opportunity to interview him at New Zealand’s Pinot Noir 2010 was a serious personal milestone in my journalistic career, albeit it having been recorded on a pretty dodgy camera.

Fast forward to July of 2013 and I’m sitting having dinner with Jamie Goode at Toronto’s Enoteca Ascari, him being in town for the International Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration

Jamie Drummond: “Errrrr… any possibility of another interview Jamie?”

Jamie Goode: “Of course Jamie, it would be my pleasure”

And so after a few bowls of delicious pasta and some killer wines we hurried next door to the relative tranquility of the Project Gallery to restart the conversation we had begun all those years back…
