2013 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon – 94+ points Robert Parker

Far Niente is an iconic estate that has been producing high quality opulent Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay since in Oakville California since 1982. The 2013 is elegantly structured with a dark cherry and boysenberry note. Drinkable now or can age 15+ years.

2013 Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon – 91 points Beppi Crosariol, Globe & Mail

Before the world recognized Catena’s Argentina as “malbec country”, the winery was known for its old-world style Cabernet Sauvignon born in clay-soil. Catena Alta is an assemblage of the historic rows vineyards in the Catena Estate. Lots from each vineyard are treated separately to maximize natural acidity and moderate alcohol levels. The wine is aged in small french oak for 18 months.

2012 Argiano Solengo – 92 points Robert Parker

Solengo, which means means lone wild boar in Tuscan dialect is one of the premier ‘Super Tuscans’ in the region. The vines were planted by famed oenologist Giacamo Tachis. Solengo is composed of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Petit Verdot, Syrah, and Merlot. The combination of a high altitude site in Montalcino and the warm winds from the Maremma results in a long ripening season which produces a wine with a rich texture and softness.
