Champagne Monmarthe’s Christophe Hanouzet explains the history of the house in the private room at Toronto’s La Palma restaurant.

A few weeks back I gave a most favourable review to the recent LCBO release of Champagne Monmarthe’s “Secret de Famille”, noting that it was an outstanding bottle of fizz at a most favourable price point.

Ever since posting that particular write up I have had so many comments from friends and strangers alike, all agreeing with my take on this superb wine.

Last week Monmarthe’s Christophe Hanouzet was in town for Cru Wine Merchants portfolio tasting, so I thought I’d ask him a few questions about the house, and he proved to be every bit as ebullient as his wines!
