Many moons ago, when I was working at the much lamented Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar, I was asked to start producing audio podcasts for the company website. After some initial reluctance to stack another responsibility along with the others, I then embraced the concept and spent my latter years there interviewing almost every Winemaker who happened to come through our doors.

Back in 2007 my old friend Rob Tomei from The Stem Wine Group introduced me to a young Piemontese Winemaker named Achille Boroli. I was impressed by Achille’s interesting wines and his charming personality, and the two of us got along famously.

Way back then Achille ask me to promise that I would come to see him in Piemonte if ever I was to visit… Well what do you know?
