In today’s CLASSICS release, we’re pleased to represent three stunning Toscana wines, and one gem from Napa Valley. These wines are available for ordering on LCBO’s CLASSICS page

Selvapiana Chianti Rufina Riserva Bucerchiale 2016

“Loaded with personality, this opens with aromas of forest floor, new leather, camphor and ripe black-skinned fruit. The palate boasts an earthy elegance reminiscent of top Burgundies, showcasing ripe black cherry, crushed raspberry, truffle, star anise and a hint of salted game. Firm, fine-grained tannins provide support while fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Drink date: 2022-2036.” Editors’ Choice. 96 points. Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2021.

Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2013

“The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (with only 6,500 bottles made) is a layered and structured wine that delivers a polar opposite experience especially when you compare this wine to the lighthearted annata 2014 Brunello. This riserva embodies power, grit and textural richness. It also delivers a robust and slightly evolved bouquet with dark fruit, spice and leather. In comparison, the wine from 2014 is thinner and more fruit forward. This wine is suited for grilled meats and steak. It’s a hearty winter wine for sure. Drink date: 2020-2035.” 94 points. Monica Larner, robertparker.com, January 31, 2019.

La Sirena Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

“Pure class, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Sirena is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced mostly from Calistoga and Pritchard Hill fruit. It offers a deep purple hue as well as stunning notes of blueberries, new saddle leather, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and graphite. It just screams of high-quality Cabernet and is full-bodied, has sweet tannins, flawless balance, and the sexy, approachable style of the 2014 vintage front and center. It’s stunning today yet will cruise for another two decades. Maturity: 2019-2039.” 96 points. Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, November 14, 2019.
