Cascina Castlèt Barbera D’Asti ‘Vespa’ 2019
$21.95/bottle ($263.4/case*)

Cascina Castlèt has been a long-standing family business for generations. Mariuccia Borio (far left Vespa rider on the wine label) is the current winery owner. She inherited the estate from her father in 1970, with a focus on developing her terroir and the local varieties.

Clusters of Barbera grapes were hand-harvested to create a lip-smacking wine with enticing aromas of blackberry, cherry, and delicate flowers. This wine is balanced and fresh, with a subtle note of minerality.

Perfect with white and red grilled meats, salami and young cheeses.

About the label
This black-and-white photograph of Mariuccia and her cousins on a Vespa was colourized and became the label of the Barbera d’Asti ‘Vespa’. A beautiful snapshot capturing the girls in the 1950s and a testament to the family’s heritage.
