Winemaker Emmanuel Riffaud from Escudo Rojo, Chile, gives us his personal take on the Carménère grape, and talks us through his Mapu Reserva.

This week we catch up with Escudo Rojo winemaker, Emmanuel Riffaud, and ask him for his opinions upon the often polarizing grape variety known as Carménère.

We taste through his current 2019 release of Mapu “Reserva” Carménère, a real steal at only $13.95, and an extremely accessible introduction to this fascinating variety.

There’s a fair bit currently on the shelves at the LCBO, so why not give it a swirl?

You can find our two part interview with Emmanuel here and here.
