The charming Diego Santana of Rioja’s Valenciso at Toronto’s Wine Academy.

Having first met Winemaker Diego Santana some two years ago, I distinctly remember being taken by his affable charm. After tasting through his wines and discussing their production I came to discover that this young winemaker had a true passion for making the very best Riojas possible from his vineyards, but in a truly modern style.

Fast forward two years (almost to the day) and Diego sat down with me to talk about his decision to organically certify all of his wines, a real challenge for producers in the Rioja region.

This is Part Two of a two part interview. You can find Part One here.
