Malcolm Jolley talks to J. Brix’s Emily Towe about their California wine projects…

Emily and Jody Towe of J. Brix in Escondido, California.

Emily and Jody Towe make wine at J. Brix near San Diego in Southern California. They make wine from local vines, but also from vineyardss in Central California, seeking small plots of interesting grapes to make small lots of non-interventionist wine. Their agent in Ontario is Kari Macknight Dearborn of the Drink Better agency who connected me recently with three of their many unique wines that are available this summer:

All three wines were great fun and unusual, so I wanted to know more about what happens at J. Brix. Kari connected me with Emily Towe, one half of the winery’s ownership with her husband Jody, and she agreed to sit for the Zoom video interview below.
