L’Avenue, Leaside’s newest  French inspired neighbourhood bistro recently opened its doors to much acclaim. Take one step into L’Avenue, located on Bayview not Avenue Road, and you’ll instantly be transported to the heart of Paris where the Parisians go to eat and drink. Good Food Revolution was there to check out owners Otta & Jenna’s newest project.

Otta, veteran Toronto sommelier has worked at many fine establishments throughout the city and always dreamt of opening his own place. Inspired by classic yet heart warming French food, Otta & Jenna decided it was time to bring classic French cuisine neighbourhood style to Leaside. A focused bistro menu led by Chef Nicholas Sward, includes classics such as Beef Bourguignon, Croque Madame, French Onion Soup & Rabbit Rillette.

Chef Nicholas and Sous Chef Jesse Grosse teamed up recently after Nicholas worked his way through several Hyatt hotels & restaurants. Classically trained while aspiring to bring a fresher approach to classic bistro cuisine, the team sent out truffled frites, Oka filled pastries, Croque Monsieurs and other bistro inspired food that we hope will become regular dishes on the menu.

Open for lunch, brunch and dinner, (open Sundays too) the menu also has a feature Prix Fixe Menu and an exceptional wine list to match.

L’Avenue is located at 1568 Bayview Avenue, Toronto
