Vaila rose 2013

Introducing our 2013 Vaïla Rosé and
2012 Syrah Cuvée Violette. Here at Le Vieux Pin Winery we have released two very special wines, just in time for summer. Severine Pinte, the winemaker used the Burgundian method of Saigneé (meaning to bleed) from free run juice of Pinot Noir grapes sourced from vineyards on Black Sage Bench and the Golden Mile. It’s then aged in a stainless steel tank. The 2013 Vaila Rosé is a delicate rosé wine perfect for summer sipping. Just 505 cases produced.

Our Syrah Cuvée Violette 2012 was sourced from three vineyards: Crowley, Dead Man and Le Grand Pin, which they made a total of 616 cases. This noble variety was aged 14 months in French oak. With bright acidity and a round structure to the body, this fruit forward red has floral notes and is silky and smooth on the palate. So enjoy it now or save it in your cellar for 5-7 years. Either way, it will surely be fantastic.

“This elegant wine is being released later this year. Dark in colour, it has classic notes of white pepper in the aroma and on the palate, along with a concentrated core of raspberry and blackberry flavours, all of it in an earthy frame on the finish.” 91 points  |  John Schreiner
