Unfortunately we cannot facilitate purchases or reservations of these wines.

Domaine Leroy is arguably producing the greatest red Burgundy wines on the Côte d’Or at present. Lalou Bize-Leroy started out as a négociant, working for her family’s Maison Leroy, which was founded by her father, Henri. There are three entities to the Leroy empire: the Maison Leroy négociant wines based in Auxey-Duresses; the Domaine d’Auvenay named for Lalou Bize-Leroy’s own home near St-Romain; and the substantial biodynamic Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée. Lalou Bize-Leroy also owns a quarter of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, where she was co-director until 1992.

We’re put together an exclusive six-pack mixed case of Maison Leroy wines available for pre-order now, including two bottles each of the Bourgogne Blanc 2017, Bourgogne Rouge 2017, and Bourgogne Gamay 2019, for $1100.00. One of the best values in this portfolio is the Maison Leroy Bourgogne level wines. Do not be deceived by the designation. While Lalou Bize Leroy never reveals the source of the grapes, it is known that these are usually grapes from Villages and 1er Cru plots, and she blends each vintage to best represent her wines for that vintage. This is where Lalou Bize-Leroy spends most of her energy; the Bourgognes are the real flagship wines of the house. We are accepting pre-orders on this case, and you can secure your order now with a 50% deposit. The wines will land in Ontario in late summer 2021. Email us directly at vinfo@lesommelier.com to reserve your Maison Leroy Mixed Case.

Quantities for all the wines are limited, and demand is high worldwide. Don’t delay in reserving your cases today via email vinfo@lesommelier.com, or calling our office at 416.603.7026.

On Saturday, May 1 we welcome the return and latest vintage of Il Palagio Message in a Bottle, from Sting and Trudie Styler’s organic sanctuary in Toscana, Italy.

Tenuta Il Palagio, tucked seamlessly into Tuscany’s fertile and lush rolling hills, has been a vine growing and wine making estate since the 16th century. The peaceful 350 hectare estate has been the summer home of Sting and Trudie Styler for more than two decades. Over that time, they’ve carefully restored the historic property’s vineyards and olive groves, as well as the main villa, and guesthouses, transforming the estate into a vibrant and fully functioning organic farm and vineyard. Befitting the property’s lineage, the couple worked with highly renowned consultants to help realize the vineyards’ true potential, including viticulturist Alan York, terroir scientist Pedro Parra, and winemaker Paolo Caciorgna.

Their 11 hectares of vineyards are biodynamically tended and certified organic for their three distinct red blends: When We Dance, Casino delle Vie, and flagship wine, Sister Moon. For Message in a Bottle, they incorporated some fruit from their neighbouring vineyards.

Il Palagio Message in a Bottle 2018

When Sting wrote his iconic song Message in a Bottle, he sang of the universal human need to connect. This is Il Palagio’s single wine not exclusively from estate grapes, but crafted in conjunction with fruit from neighbouring Tuscan vineyards. This versatile and very drinkable Toscana IGT is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Syrah, and 15% Merlot, was fermented in stainless before aging in French oak barrels for 12 months. With a complex aroma of cherries, wild blackberries and spices, this wine will compliment many dishes.

Appellation : IGT Toscana Rosso
Region : Toscana, Italy
Grape(s) : Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot
Price : $25.95 for 750mL
LCBO : 517029
