It’s been a long time, but it was lovely to chat with winemaker Alex Dale of South Africa’s Radford Dale once again.

In trying to find the few positives in this seemingly-endless, bloody pandemic, I have discovered that this particular GFR video series has meant that I have reconnected with wine friends from around the globe that I haven’t seen in a dog’s age.

Case in point is Mr. Alex Dale, winemaker and co-owner of Stellenbosch’s Radford Dale winery. I thought that we had first met back in London, UK at the South African wine show in October of 2011, and we shot a little interview. Oh boy, the early days of Good Food Revolution!

However, we go back way longer than that, to the Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar days!

Anyway, fast forward to 2021 and we conduct a two part interview about how he’s faring down in South Africa…

For reference, see Malcolm’s interview with him back in July, here.

Look out for Part Two next week.

Alex’s terrific wines are represented in Ontario by Nicholas Pearce Wines.

Edinburgh-born/Toronto-based Sommelier, consultant, writer, judge, and educator Jamie Drummond is the Director of Programs/Editor of Good Food Revolution… And that was terrific… although I wish I had some of that wine to taste with Alex!
