Escudo Roja Winemaker Emmanuel Riffaud joins us for Part One of a two part interview.

Escudo Roja winemaker Emmanuel Riffaud joins us for Part One of a two-part interview at the very end of his 2021 harvest.

This week we had the opportunity to speak with Emmanuel Riffaud, a French winemaker who has made his home in the Maipo Valley crafting wines for Baron Philippe de Rothschild‘s Escudo Rojo project.

I was intrigued as to the differences between producing Bordeaux blends in Chile’s Maipo Valley and similar wines back in Bordeaux, and wondering whether he had grown fond of the practice of drip irrigation…

Look out for Part Two next week…
