Jessica Allen paid her dues on the floor of Terroni before embarking on a career in journalism. Now, the assistant editor at Maclean’s magazine, where she covers arts and culture, is the national magazine’s official food blogger at Eat It Up. Allen also authors the innovative Foodie and the Beast blog, edits T Magazine (Terroni’s in house – more on this at GFR later) and Tweets prolifically at @jessiraeallen in her spare time. In other words, the lady lives a life of letters and food. I caught up with Allen at, well, Allen’s on the Danforth, who were kind enough to give Good Food Revolution a little bit of space on their lovely patio behind its enormous willow tree. Over a pint of craft beer (me) and a crisp glass of Ontario Riesling (Allen) we discussed her career to date in the video below.
