by Slow Food Toronto, a ‘Certified Good Food Fighter

Join Slow Food Toronto at Beast restaurant for an intimate tasting of Ontario Chardonnays led by Bill Redelmeier, Proprietor of Southbrook Vineyards and champion of Seriously Cool Ontario Chardonnay. “We see a lot of people who say they don’t like Chardonnay, but when they pour a cool climate Chardonnay, they change their minds,” Redelmeier says. “Cool climates make for a much different and much superior Chardonnay.”

Beast’s Scott and Rachelle Vivian will provide a tasting platter paired with the featured wines, following the tutored tasting. We thank Scott and Rachelle for generously hosting this event.

When: Monday January 24, 2011 – 6:00-8:00p.m.
Where: Beast restaurant – 96 Tecumseth Street, Toronto
Tickets: $40 (SFT members) / $60 (non-members) – BUY NOW!

Beast restaurant offers up local, sustainable fare with an emphasis on Ontario-grown ingredients.

In May 2010, Southbrook’s Bill Redelmeier organized a tasting of cool-climate Ontario Chardonnays for top British critics, and the Ontario winemakers were met with resounding praise. Said Steven Spurrier, “There was not a single poor wine here. They all have an individual personality. They’re all brilliantly well-made. I’m very impressed. I didn’t know you had all this.” A repeat performance is in the works for New York in 2011. Visit www.coolchardonnay.ca for more details.

Redelmeier has selected wines from the following Ontario producers for an informative, tutored tasting:
Southbrook
Closson Chase
Coyote’s Run
Henry of Pelham
Hidden Bench
Le Clos Jordanne
Malivoire
Rosehall Run
