Founded in 1897 as a négociant of Bordeaux wines, Yvon Mau evolved to also produce wines from different regions of France. Named after the company icon and son of the founder, Yvon would cycle around France on his penny-farthing bicycle trying to find the best wines the country had to offer.
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon combining lively red fruit aromas of blackcurrant and cherry with a subtle touch of vanilla. Well-balanced on the palate, with great maturity of flavour and a tannic structure which is dense yet silky-smooth.
Bright and fruity, the palate is smooth and nicely balanced with red and black berry flavours at the forefront, followed by cocoa-like tannins and ripe fruit lingering though the finish. Great for roast beef or pork tenderloin, meatballs, or soft cheeses.
