Beaus Marzen Label

Beaus Marzen bottle shotIt’s a sunny Indian summer afternoon. You’ve filled a dozen big paper bags full of leaves. That’s thirsty work. There’s enough warmth in the air that you decide to take your refreshment outdoors. But how will you slake your thirst and re-enrgize your palate?

I suggest a glass of Beau’s Farm Table Märzen all natural organic beer, brewed with love in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. Beau’s Munich-style Oktoberfest beer is now available at the LCBO (Product No. 436899 – $4.55 for a 600ml bottle).

This is the beer I drank the most of, with relish, at Beau’s Oktoberfest earlier this month. It’s a treat to be able to pick it up at our friendly government monopoly alchohol control agency, especially now that it is perfectly in season.

Can a beer be in season? Of course it can. Here is a refreshing hoppy brew that can quench after a vigorous bout of leaf raking, or pumpkin carving, or decorative gourd arranging, while also nourishing with rich malty, bready notes. It’s just good, even (or especially) if you’re not necessarily a big craft beer fan.

Beau’s (who are, full disclosure, Good Food Fighters) have a resident chef these days, Bruce Wood. Bruce says, if you’re hungry as well as thirsty, that his favourite match to the Farm Table Märzen is a pork chop, and he’s provided us with a recipe here.

Wunderbar!
