Come celebrate Wassail (Nov 23 & 24; Nov 30 & Dec 1; Dec 7 & 8) in Prince Edward County.  At Closson Chase we are going for the ultimate tasting experience by pairing our wine with innovatively designed chocolates crafted from plantation cacao by Chocolatier Darren Johns of Mercury Chocolates. A match made in heaven for the foodie and wine connoisseur alike. Just as our wine presents rich nuances for you to discover the chocolate presents an equal complexity of flavors and textures. We invite you to explore the subtlety of flavors that both the wines and chocolate have to offer.

Pairings:

2011 Closson Chase Chardonnay – 63% Micro plantation cacao from Ecuador – Hints of citrus, honey & floral notes with a butterscotch nuance.

2010 CCV Churchside Pinot Noir – 68% Micro plantation cacao from Venezuela – Red cherry, mushroom notes, bright acidity and hints of blueberry.

Chocolates will be available to purchase in gift boxes perfect for holiday gift giving with a portion of sales going to the local food bank.

In addition glass artists Vanessa Pandos (Shattered) and Adam Cole celebrate Wassail with an opening reception of their newly hung show at the Winery, this Saturday, November 23rd from 2-4pm. Experience the glass in this unique open venue while the artists talk about their collaborative ventures. Enjoy some homemade Lebkuchen – traditional german honey-spice cookies – with a complimentary tasting of Closson Chase wine.

The County truly is the place to be this season. 20 participating wineries and cidery will be open and serving mulled wines, ciders, seasonal treats, comfort foods.  Shop for Christmas gifts and stock up on county wine for the holiday season.
