Yup, I am ready for a dram right about now….

Brand Ambassador Iain Forteath would have been here to share the a dram and the distillery’s story right about now, but these are interesting times so instead he visits us via this video from the distillery.

For those of who have not met Iain yet… Whisky lover, Wine drinker, Raconteur, International man of mystery, World cheese eating champion… these are all words Iain has used to describe himself, and may do so again. He joined Angus Dundee Distillers in 2015 after making his mark in retail side of the Whisky industry. Hailing from a family of Whisky lovers, Iain’s passion for ‘the water of life’ started from a young age. After Graduating in Geography and Environmental Science, he spent a brief stint teaching in France before realising his true calling: Whisky (…and wine, but we’ll let him off). This led him to WoodWinters, a leading Wine and Spirits specialist, where he quickly took up position as resident Whisky Guru and eventually retail manager. After that it was on to Robertsons of Pitlochry, as Sales and Operations Manager. At this point he was also recognised for his tasting skills and selected as a Judge for the prestigious Scottish Field Whisky Challenge… that is when he was pinched and became Angus Dundee’s Global Band Ambassador.

Tomintoul Distillery lies in the heart of the stunning Cairngorm National Park, located close to the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. Situated in the ancient Glenlivet Estate the distillery takes its water from the pure, natural Ballantruan Spring, nestling in the Cromdale Hills. The natural environment, high altitude and exclusive use of the Ballantruan water source combine to produce the excellent single malt that is Tomintoul. The Gentle Dram.
