We’re releasing two brand-new beers this week in Ontario and Québec: a red gruit ale called Tyrannosaurus Gruit, and a 4.9% French farmhouse ale called Farm Table: Grisette. The releases kick off feBREWary, a month-long winter craft beer celebration that sees 200 restaurants and pubs in Ontario and Québec tap a new beer from Beau’s every week.

t-gruit-bottle-enTyrannosaurus Gruit is the first beer released as part of Beau’s feBREWary, and will be available in both provinces beginning this Thursday at participating restaurants and pubs. Brewed to celebrate International Gruit Day (Feb. 1), the red gruit ale is made with organic beets and hibiscus flowers, juniper berries and locally harvested spruce tips. Berries and beets mingle with subtle spruce in the aroma; the flavour is earthy and fruity, with conifer resins and a mild peppery spice.

Beau’s will celebrate the launch of feBREWary and the release of Tyrannosaurus Gruit this weekend at the Vankleek Hill brewery with a cask-tapping, activities and prizes for guests, as well as free tours and samples of the beers on offer. Busloads of visitors from Ottawa and Montréal will be arriving both Saturday and Sunday to contribute to the fun, celebratory atmosphere of the feBREWary weekend at the brewery.

grisette-bottleA new release from Beau’s will also make its way onto LCBO shelves this week, as well as select corner stores and supermarkets in Québec. Farm Table: Grisette is the latest offering in the Beau’s Farm Table Series, a collection of sessionable beers inspired by tradition and brewed true to a classic style. The golden farmhouse-style ale has mild saison character, and great drinkability. The flavour flows from light peppery notes to refreshing grassy and herbal elements, and the finish is pleasantly dry.

Farm Table: Grisette (as well as a very limited supply of Tyrannosaurus Gruit) will be available in 600 ml bottles in the brewery retail shop beginning Feb. 4. A full list of participating feBREWary restaurants in Ontario and Québec who will be tapping Tyrannosaurus Gruit this week is provided online at www.beaus.ca/feBREWary.

FeBREWary 2016 is Beau’s All Natural’s 5th annual month-long beer event designed to “Give Old Man Winter a kick in the snowpants.” Next week’s feBREWary release is Embittermint I.P.A., an India Pale Ale brewed with a selection of citrusy hops and organic mints. Details on all the upcoming feBREWary beers are also available online at www.beaus.ca/feBREWary.
