PINOT NOIR VERTICAL SIX-PACK

Although we’re well known for our single vineyard offerings, it’s our Twenty Mile Bench wines that are really the core expressions of our winery. These wines are made with grapes sourced from carefully chosen vineyard sites in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation and reflect the unique characteristics this area has to offer. We recently dug out some of these wines from our library and have decided to release them in a six-pack!

This very limited, vertical offer contains the current vintage of 2020, as well as the library releases of 2019 and 2018.

Please note, the 2018 and 2019 library releases are only available in this six-pack.

2018

“Assembled from various sites on the Twenty Mile Bench, this very pale pinot captures a fine sense of detail and purity with pretty, complex aromas of strawberry, sour cherry, cranberry nicely fitted with with gentle oak spice and a hint of evergreen. It is light bodied, smooth yet fresh with a hint of sourness. Tannins are very fine and the length is very good to excellent.” – David Lawrason, WineAlign

93 Points – Matt Steeves, Quercus Vino, 91 Points Michael Godel, WineAlign & 90 Points– David Lawrason, WineAlign

2019

“An elegant, varietally well-defined pinot noir, bright with lofty, volumizing tannins. Characterful with delicate tannins, offering flavours of crancherry, tilled earth, and dried sage with nicely curbed acidity. Light to mid-weight with more depth of flavour than expected. A solid value that is an absolute pleasure to drink now but with the stuffing for mid-term aging.” – Sara d’Amato, WineAlign

2020

“Elegantly scented, with notes of cherries and raspberries, hints of olive tapenade and cream on the nose. The palate has charm, red fruit and a measured generosity. Well defined and pure with a lovely crunch.” – Decanter Magazine

2020 Twenty Mile Bench, Pinot Noir

$37.00

This Pinot Noir was made with fruit sourced from the Glen Elgin, Homestead, Parke, and Hanck vineyards in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation. These vineyards, situated near our winery, are perfectly suited for producing elegant, classic Pinot Noir that demonstrates what makes this part of Niagara so special.

93 points. Elegantly scented, with notes of cherries and raspberries, hints of olive tapenade and cream on the nose. The palate has charm, red fruit and a measured generosity. Well defined and pure with a lovely crunch.” – Decanter Magazine

92 points. This is nicely perfumed with brambly raspberries, red cherries and red currants that is fruity without being too earthy with just a pinch of spice. The melange of red fruits is integrated on the palate with ever-so-subtle savoury/earthy notes adding complexity, a touch of anise, smooth tannins, and a finessed finish.” – Rick VanSickle, Wines In Niagara

“Cloudsley’s ‘entry’ level pinot is terrific in the 2020 vintage, generous and fruity, round and supple, forward in the 2020 vintage style. I love the ripe raspberry fruit, joyful and pure, framed by a touch of sweet oak spice, vanilla. Tannins are supple and creamy, acids balanced, and the overall ensemble really quite delicious. I’d let it sit for another year for full oak integration, but this will provide immense drinking pleasure over the subsequent 3-5 years – capture it on the pure fruit.” – John Szabo, MS, Wine Align

2020 Twenty Mile Bench, Chardonnay

$37.00

This Chardonnay was made with fruit sourced from the Wismer family’s Foxcroft and Wingfield vineyards. These vineyards, situated near our winery, are perfectly suited for producing elegant, classic Chardonnay that demonstrates what makes this part of Niagara so special.

92 points. It’s quite fragrant and rich on the nose with ripe pear, bergamot, yellow apples, and chalky/stony notes. It’s mouth-filling on the palate with some fleshy notes but lovely salinity holding it all in check.” – Rick VanSickle, Wines In Niagara

“Another fine vintage for this attractively priced chardonnay from the Twenty Mile Bench, always restrained and classically styled, made in the traditional, oxidative fashion, fully barrel fermented and aged, though with only a small percentage of new oak. The palate is noticeably richer and creamier, also riper, than the 2019, a more generously proportioned wine per the warm vintage. Acids are quite creamy and soft, making this a wine to enjoy on the younger side I feel with its loose ripe yellow-fleshed fruit in tow. Very good length and depth. Best now-2026 or so.” – John Szabo, MS, Wine Align
