Once and a while universes collide, and Stratus is hosting a very special dinner on Saturday, May 26 at their beautiful, LEED Certified, Niagara-on-the-Lake winery featuring new and rare wines paired the cooking of acclaimed Vancouver chef Vikram Vij.

Experience the cuisine of Vij’s, which The New York Times’ Mark Bittman rated “easily among the finest Indian restaurants in the world” in the Arcadian beauty of Stratus’s vineyards, while enjoying some of Ontario’s most acclaimed wines made under the steady hand of legendary wine maker J.L. Groux.

Chef Vij will hold an interactive demonstration of Indian spices for guests prior to the dinner and will be on hand to sign books and answer questions. Co-host Alison Fryer, from The Cookbook  Store, explains:

“This won’t be just another winemaker’s dinner. We’re going to mix it up with personal dialogue, a spice tour and the first-hand discovery of Vij’s alongside the wines of Stratus.”

Chef Vij’s dinner is the first of a series at Stratus called Coast to Coast @ Stratus, which will bring top chefs from across Canada to the winery. Watch GFR for more announcements.
