2017 SINGLE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR

Each vintage, the winemaking team at Cloudsley Cellars carefully selects the best barrels of Pinot Noir from the individual vineyard lots. These two premium single vineyard releases, Homestead and Glen Elgin, are the result of this process. Despite being only a couple hundred yards apart, these two vineyards offer very different expressions of Twenty Mile Bench Pinot Noir providing great example of differences in terroir. These are small lot bottlings so it is best to reserve yours early to avoid disappointment.

This Pinot Noir comes from the Wismer family’s Glen Elgin Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench region of Niagara. This excellent site was planted in 1996 with clone 115. With its shallow, lighter soil, Glen Elgin produces very elegant, mineral driven Pinot that is a pure expression of what Twenty Mile Bench has to offer. Only 90 cases made. $50 per bottle.
BUY GLEN ELGIN
This Pinot Noir comes from the Wismer family’s Homestead Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench region of Niagara. This excellent site was planted in 1999 and 2002 with clones 777 and 115. Homestead has deeper, loamier soils that yield Pinot Noir that tends to be broader and earthier compared to Glen Elgin. Only 110 cases made. $50 per bottle.
