The Domaine de Verquière estate, located in Sablet in the southern Rhône, has been handed down from father to son over four generations, and is currently managed by Thibaut Chamfort. The family’s vineyards and cellar are managed according to traditional practices, while also implementing modern techniques; their commitment and passion for farming and winemaking has encouraged Thibaut to convert the vineyards to organic viticulture, which have been certified since 2014.

Thibaut says, “We make wines that characterize their terroir by always seeking elegance, freshness and pleasure.” These are wonderful wines for the table – especially during the winter months – and we’re excited to be able to offer you the chance to experience the nuance and focus of these exceptional bottles.

About Domaine de Verquière

The winery is located on a 45-ha estate with vineyards in the appellations of Sablet, Plan de Dieu, Rasteau and Vacqueyras. Each terroir is quite different. Sablet is built on a sandy mound from which it takes its name. Plan de Dieu is a bed of red clay packed to a depth of 10m. Rasteau, located a little further north-east and at an altitude of 200m, has a landscape of undulating hills and varied stony and clay-chalk soils. And Vacqueyras, located just south of Gigondas, has steep terraced vineyards with distinct soils producing red, rosé, and white wines.
