Finding out a little lot more about Trius Brut with winemaker Craig McDonald.

I think that Trius Brut may very well have been the first Ontario sparkling wine that I was exposed to upon my first visit to Ontario way back in 1996 or thereabouts. Ever since that first experience I have always viewed it as a benchmark of top quality traditional method Canadian sparkling.

The Trius Brut consistently exhibits a finesse and complexity that can only come from an extended period of 24 months on the lees, and at a very reasonable $29.95, it’s a simply excellent value foray into the world of top-notch Ontario sparklers.

We sat down with winemaker Craig McDonald for a thorough exploration of all things Trius Brut, from its inception and history, to its continued success in today’s market.
