Nicholas Pearce presents a private order from the ninth generation at Domaine Baud…

The Jura, as a wine region, is often overshadowed by it’s more celebrated neighbour Burgundy, but deserves every ounce of reverence for it’s distinct and unique wines. It’s a beautiful and narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an ocean and today still bears many of the fossils from that time – the catalyst behind the word Jurassic. The wines are distinctive yet familiar – the main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Savagnin Blanc, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir – and are produced in sparkling, still and oxidative styles.

The Domaine Baud wines from Jura will be arriving in June.
