This week we chat with Joe Lange, a fifth generation wine farmer from Lodi, California.

His family’s wine business, Lange Twins Family Winery & Vineyards, has a rich history that goes back to the late 1800s when his great-grandparents emigrated from Germany to California.

In Part 1 of this extended interview we speak about how the family grew the business from a small crop-based farm (non-irrigated watermelons) to the large concern it is today as both a vineyard management company and a sustainable winery operation.

Look out for Part 2 next week when we’ll look at some of the Lange Twins wines currently available in Ontario…
