BODEGAS MELER, Barbastro, Huesca

The MELER FAMILY has been linked to agriculture for centuries, with several generations having grown up in the Meler tower surrounded by cereal farms, almond trees and vineyards. The idea of founding a winery, starting from the base of our own vineyards, came from the dream of recovering the cultivation of the vineyard and the production of wine from the family history.

“Project of 3: three women, three sisters, three young people… with a single objective: To transform our own vineyards into, unique, exclusive and characterful wines.” – Ana, Maria y Isabel Meler

THE LAND

The vineyards of the Meler family are located in D.O. Somontano, at the foot of the Pyrenees, a small denomination of origin which surprises every time again in a positive way. There are few places in the world where such excellent conditions come together as they do here. Cultivating each place, each land, each vineyard, with the greatest care and adjusting to its parameters of need under the protection of the microclimate that we have influenced by the Sierra de Guara, the Sierra de la Carrodilla, the Rio Vero and the Pyrenees. The mountains in the Pyrenees, with a climate of freezing winters and extremely high temperatures in summer, are perfect for the production and elaboration of special mountain wines. The wines are mineral rich, have intense flavours with a delicious freshness.
