Eating The World with Maria and Francisco

Fransisco Martin is a chef, with a restaurant in Lisbon and Maria Martin is a journalist, who specializes in food writing. When the Portuguese couple married, after spending a year doing aid work in Mozambique, they decided to spend their first year of union travelling the world learning about what people ate and how they thought about it. The result is an ongoing website,, and acclaim from the nabobs of conscientious eating around the world, including Italy’s Slow Food.
