LIVE AT JACKSON TRIGGS AMPHITHEATRE 2011 Concert Series

JUNE 29th, 2011 – Officially 4 days into summer, Jackson Triggs’ Niagara Estate Winery has announced two more exciting additions to the schedule of live performances at the Amphitheatre: Hawksley Workman, featuring very special guest Kathleen Edwards on September 3rd and Johannes Linstead – Guitar of Fire! on September 4th.

Hawksley Workman is a prolific songwriter, producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and published author.  His 12 year career has produced as many records, all ambitiously creative and defying category.  The 2 time Juno award winner has enjoyed radio success in Europe and Canada and has written songs for celebrated artists the world over, including Tegan and Sarah, Great Big Sea, Sarah Slean and more. Expect an interesting song line-up on September 3rd, featuring numbers from his most recent works, Milk and Meat, both released in 2010.

 Hawksley’s performance will also feature alternative country singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards. After a fantastic showing at the original ROOTSTOCK two years ago, we are thrilled to have her back!

From being named “Guitarist of the Year”, to winning six “Best Album” awards, Johannes Linstead has become recognized internationally as one of the best-selling guitarists and composers in the Instrumental and World Music genres. MISTICO, Johannes’ new release, has taken his career to new heights, winning two titles in the ZMR Awards (named “Best World Album” and “Best Instrumental Album – Acoustic”), plus ranking in the #1 position on eMusic.com’s “World Music” and “Jazz/Blues” charts. Get ready for a fiesta of Spanish guitar and Afro-Cuban percussion with award-winning guitarist Johannes Linstead and his ensemble!

Now celebrating its 11th season, the Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre summer series has become a “must do” for music lovers. The focus on Canadian talent amid the dramatic open-air Roman style amphitheatre promises to provide many memorable nights this summer.

Wine and Culinary: The Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre concert series offers a unique and relaxed way to enjoy wine country at its best while catching some of Canada’s premiere talent under the stars and nestled in the vineyards. Enjoy sipping the award winning wines of Jackson Triggs WinemakerMarco Piccoli and savouring Niagara’s outstanding local fare prepared by our Chef, David Penny.

All performances begin at 8:00 pm.

“Canadian Cheese Selection”: $10.00 plus tax (food prices only). Chef’s selection of three Canadian cheeses with Artisan Breads and Housemade Preserves.

Lighter a la carte fare with wine available for purchase by the glass.

  1. The Tasting Gallery- $5.00, $10.00 and $20.00 The lighter fare ‘SMALL PLATES” menu  consist of sandwich, soup, salad and cheese & charcuterie.

Starting at 6:30 pm enjoy delicious concession snacks ranging from gourmet popcorn, Artisan Cheeses to house made pretzels and gourmet roasted nuts.

Ticket information:   All tickets are general admission. Reserved seating is provided only for Wine Club Members and Barrel Cellar diners.  Show times are at 8:00 pm sharp and will go on rain or shine.
