Whilst one may not be able to snag any 1967 d'Yquem, there are some superb deals to be had.

There’s something rather exciting happening at The Spoke Club on Saturday, January the 22nd… something so exciting that we simply have to share it with all of our readers at Good Food Revolution….

…and it is open to the public…

…and it is FREE… GRATIS… ZILCH.

Well… if you don’t actually bid on anything that is.

With registration beginning at 1pm, esteemed and respected (and jolly nice fellow to boot) auctioneer Stephen Ranger will be presiding over an auction of over 2,500 bottles of wine in 250 lots.

To the best of our knowledge this is the very first time that an event like this has been held in Ontario.

Organiser Warren Porter of Good Food Fighters Sommelier Service/Irongate gave me a little insight into the day’s proceedings:

“This is a great collection of “drinking” wines.  Mostly 1995 to 2003 old world, drinking perfectly right now. There’s some older and a smattering of Australia but it’s mostly Rhone, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Italy.  Most of the wines you’ll see are $50 or less.  This is going to be a great place for collector and non-collector alike to get deals

And we have to say that sounds damn good to us at Good Food Revolution.
