The lovely Mother and Daughter team at Il Vascello Del Monsignore

While perusing the artisanal foods pavilion at last year’s Enologica conference in Faenza, Emilia Romagna, Italy I was fortunate enough to bump into the delightful and charming Irena Lucia Melone, whose family have been making balsamic vinegar since 1770. Irena was kind enough to grant me a few moments of her time to tell me the story of her family’s vinegar.
