Cantine Paradiso Sant’Andrea Primitivo 2019
Wine Align: 90 points
Cantine Paradiso is located in Puglia, the ‘heel’ of Italy. During the estate’s 60-year history, the very down-to-earth Paradiso family has been promoting the area’s winemaking culture and improving the quality of their production, while balancing tradition and innovation. Today, the winery is led by Angelo Paradiso (scroll down for photo!), who also manages the vineyards and the winery.
- This wine is sustainable and vegan-friendly;
- The grape variety, Primitivo, is also known as Zinfandel in North America. In Puglia, it can take on a leaner and more elegant expression.; and
- Bright purple in the glass, the wine delivers ripe dark fruit, spices and even some floral notes!
“With a slight chill and a simple red sauce in optimum season you could drink so much of this outdoors, overlooking water, all summer long.” – Michael Godel
