As the driving force in bringing restaurants like Colborne Lane, Kultura, Nyood and Blowfish to Toronto, there is no doubt that Hanif Harji is one of Toronto’s brightest restaurant stars. Over the past several months, we have worked very closely with Hanif in preparation for the launch of what is sure to be an exciting addition to the Toronto restaurant landscape.
With this in mind, I am strongly urging you to check out a very special and exclusive introduction to the dynamic flavours of Spain during a three day “pop-up” restaurant experience put on by Hanif and his team, next week (May 3, 4 & 5) in downtown Toronto.
The main attraction of the “Experiencia de Tapas Auténticos” is, of course, the Spanish food prepared by Chef Cameron. With ingredients like imported Spanish iberico de bellota ham, fresh seafood that will hit ‘la plancha’, and cheeses and sardines from the coastal country, the dishes will stun. Plates like patatas bravas (potatoes with a sofrito sauce), serrano ham or grilled leek croquettes, and pan con tomate (a beautiful house-made bread rubbed with the highest-quality ripe tomatoes) will mostly be priced under the $10 mark. “It’ll be kind of cheap and affordable…This isn’t a money-grab. It’s purely a passion pop-up to give a hip and real culinary experience to our guests.”
I will be on-hand over this three day event to present some of our most exciting new wine releases from across Spain, while Chef Stuart Cameron spins out some brilliant tapas dishes for your enjoyment. The Spanish pop-up restaurant will run May 3rd through 5th from 6pm to 10pm, on a first-come, first-serve basis, at 11 Duncan Street, Toronto (north of King Street West, on the east side of Duncan).
