Our mission here at The Vine Agency is to work with estate oriented, family owned wineries who are invested in producing sustainable, high quality wine. The partnership between McManis & The Vine goes back to the founding of the agency, and with the launch of the new McManis Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, we felt it was an opportune time to re-introduce an old friend.
The McManis family are 5th generation farmers in California’s northern interior. Founded on a 40 acre site near Ripon, McManis now farms vineyards across the region in the Lodi, River Junction & Clarksburg AVAs. Even more impressive, is that all their vineyards are certified sustainable through the Lodi Rules – a set of more than 100 sustainability standards developed in conjunction with grape growers, viticultural professionals & scientists to farm the land in a way that is sustainable for the environment, for the community and for the family business. McManis was awarded a California Green Medal Award for Sustainable Winegrowing in Business in 2016, and recognised again in 2022, being awarded a California Green Medal Award for Community.

2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Two decades after the first vintage of McManis Cabernet Sauvignon, the family is confident they have identified the best parcels of vines with which to produce their first Reserve varietal wine. Blended with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Teroldego & Petite Sirah, the wine is aged in a combination of French & American Oak for 4-6 months. Bursting with rich flavours of black cherry, coffee & cassis, the palate ripe & juicy, finishing with rounded, creamy tannin and hints of mocha.

2020 North Forty
A four way split of Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Teroldego & Tannat, this unusual blend sees 6 months aging with new and used French oak. Intensely coloured, this wines shows off concentrated aromas of derry fruit, mocha & vanilla that give way to black raspberry, doris plum and cocoa on the smooth palate.
