Once upon a time in ancient Tuscany, a shy white grape named Trebbiano Toscano was a mandatory component in all blends of Chianti red wines.

Fattoria di Sammontana’s Alberese is a nod to this old tradition. The wine is made almost entirely of Sangiovese, with just a touch of Trebbiano Toscano. Both grapes were co-planted on pure limestone soils that are locally called ‘Alberese’. They are then picked and fermented together to create the brightest light-bodied red.

A delicious and easy-drinking wine that goes with just about anything.
