Achille Boroli in front of his winery where the walls are covered in old barrels

Founded in 1997, this relatively new, small production firm is comprised of two estates: one in a small village just outside of Alba with its own winery, the other in the heart of Barolo in Castiglione Falletto with a newly completed, beautifully designed winery by one of the family members. In addition to the estate vineyards above, the Boroli family recently acquired a small parcel of the prestigious Cerequio cru of Barolo, compared to the Grand Cru vineyards of Burgundy, Cerequio produces a more refined, elegant and delicate version of Barolo. The estate’s oenologist is Enzo Alluvione who has Gambero Rosso’s 2002 Winemaker of the Year Beppe Caviola, assisting with the wine- making duties. At the helm of Boroli is Achille Boroli who handles all of the day to day operations and oversees the wine- making and overall direction of the winery.

Boroli’s wines are described as a perfect touch of modernism without sacrificing the foundation of tradition. Consistently scoring in the 90’s by Robert Parker, Boroli is striving to continually refine it’s wines with the intention of achieving greatness in a region that is famous for producing spectacular wines.
